New details have been unveiled about the park, including a Tron-themed coaster, a Star Wars Launch Bay, a giant Enchanted Storybook Castle, a Toy Story hotel, and more

MANILA, Philippines – Shanghai Disneyland, the first Disney theme park in China, will open its doors spring of 2016. New details about the theme park were just recently revealed, including a number of new attractions which will be firsts for the Disney parks.

Our heads are still spinning from all the details that have surfaced, particularly when it comes to the attractions, at a presentation of the park at the Shanghai Expo Centre on July 15.

Some artwork has also been released, and we’ve got that for you right here so you can take a look at what’s in the works.

Notably, there are a few firsts that will be featured in the new park:

  • A newly designed Tomorrowland, “created especially for the people of China”
  • Tomorrowland will house a new Tron-themed rollercoaster
  • Adventure Isle, a new area, “with an ancient legend about a native tribe, a giant, reptilian creature, and the mighty Roaring Mountain”
  • Voyage to the Crystal Grotto, a watery excursion that takes riders through classic fairytales and located in Fantasyland
  • Garden of the 12 Friends, with the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac reimagined as fun Disney and Pixar characters
  • Treasure Cove, the first pirate-themed land in a Disney park

There will be 6 themed lands, including:

Mickey Avenue, their version of the lobby, the main entry point where you can take photos with the characters. As with the other parks, there will also be a collection of shops near the area, called the Avenue M Arcade.

The Gardens of Imagination. According to the release, quite a few spots in this area will make great spots for viewing Disney’s famous parades. The iconic Dumbo ride will also be available here, as well as the Fantasia Carousel.

Fantasyland. One unforgettable landmark most associated with Disneyland: that giant castle, which will be housed at Fantasyland. Here, there’s Voyage to the Crystal Grotto, as well the Peter Pan, Snow White, Winnie the Pooh, and Alice in Wonderland rides.
