MANILA, Philippines –All aircraft of Aviatour Air are grounded pending the result of the investigation of the plane crash off Masbate that killed Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo and pilot Capt. Jessup Bahinting, state media Philippine News Agency (PNA) reported on Wednesday, August 22.

”A suspension order has been issued by CAAP grounding all aircraft used by Aviatour Air,” PNA quoted CAAP director general William Hotchkiss II said. Bahinting is the owner of Aviatour Air.

Robredo’s aide-de-camp Police Sr. Insp. June Paolo Abrazado survived the accident while Nepalese co-pilot Khitiz Chand’s body remain missing.

Following DOTC Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II’s order to investigate the plane crash, CAAP formed a team to serve as the Aircraft Accident Investigation and Inquiry Board . The team consists of Capt. Amado Soliman, Capt. Ramon Flores, and Capt. Elmer Pena.
