Kris Aquino to attend Robredo’s inauguration
The youngest sister of outgoing President Benigno Aquino III will represent her other sisters when Vice President-elect Leni Robredo takes her oath as the second highest elected official of the land

MANILA, Philippines – Kris Aquino will attend the inauguration of Vice President-elect Leni Robredo on Thursday, June 30.

In an update released to media on Tuesday, June 28, Robredo’s spokesperson Georgina Hernandez said that all 4 of outgoing President Benigno Aquino III’s sisters were invited to join the inauguration at the Quezon City Reception House but the other 3 gave up their slots for other guests.

Kris, an actress and talk show host, will represent her sisters when Robredo takes her oath as the second highest elected official of the land.

Her sisters will be joining their brother for turnover rites at Malacañang.

Robredo will be sworn in by two barangay officials on Thursday. Her inauguration is separate from that of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s, which will be held at Malacañang Palace.

The rest of the Aquino sisters will instead join Robredo’s victory party at the Quezon Memorial Circle in the afternoon of the same day.

Kris and older sisters Ballsy, Viel, and Pinky were among Robredo’s campaigners in the 2016 elections. Kris even funded and starred in ads endorsing Robredo in the latter part of the campaign.

Kris was hounded by controversy during the campaign, when she was spotted using the presidential chopper for a Liberal Party (LP) campaign sortie.

Robredo is a member of the ruling LP, which Aquino also belongs to. – Rappler.com
