ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – The nephew of Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) founder Nur Misuari and 37 other MNLF rebels were captured in Zamboanga City on Wednesday, September 25. 

Commander Enier Misuari, 50, leads MNLF members based in nearby province Zamboanga Sibugay. Thirty-seven other MNLF members were turned over by the military to the police. 

Three of them were brought to the hospital, but one of them died.

Zamboanga City Police spokesperon Ariel Huesca said this batch of MNLF fighters come from rich families. 

Enier Misuari is a known figure in Zamboanga Sibugay.

Huesca said among the MNLF rebels captured is the former top councilor of Talusan town in Zamboanga Sibugay, Jul Lipai.

Among those captured is female MNLF commander Misba Baladji, 69. She commands the fighters based in Siay, a municipality in the same province.  Rappler.com
