MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) will launch gold-foiled 3D stamps to commemorate the canonization of Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul II at Vatican City on Sunday, April 27.

PHLPost said on Thursday, April 24, that Postmaster General Josie Dela Cruz will present the stamps and souvenir sheets to Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle at the Philippine celebration of the Popes’ canonization at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday.

“We are proud to release the first circular stamps in 3D embossed and in gold foil stamping as our fitting tribute to Pope John Paul II, who is well loved by Filipino Catholics, and Pope John XXIII,” Dela Cruz said.

POPE JOHN XXIII. PHLPost will issue 5,000 copies of stamps bearing the image of Pope John XXIII.

The souvenir sheet that goes with the circular stamp measures 105 millimeters by 70 mm, while the stamps, designed graphic designer Jose Antonio Jayme,  are 38 mm in size.

PHLPost has produced only 10,000 pieces of Blessed John Paul II souvenir sheets and 5,000 copies of Pope John XXIII.
