MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – A 17-year-old Filipino was injured in a movie theater shooting incident in Denver, Colorado, a television report said Saturday, July 21.

The Filipino was shot in the stomatch and is now undergoing surgery, according to a report on ANC, the ABS-CBN News Channel.

Identified as Ryan Lumba, he was reportedly watching the latest Batman film, "The Dark Knight Rises," with his friends when the shooting incident happened. In an interview on ABS-CBN's Balitang Amerika, his mother said Lumba was unconscious and under pain medication.

The gunman, identified as the 24-year-old James Holmes, opened fire during the screening of "The Dark Knight Rises" early Friday, July 20. The shooting incident killed at least 12 and injured nearly 40, police and reports said.
