(UPDATE) 4 Baguio precincts receive ballots meant for a Compostela Valley barangay, while 6 Antique precincts get Romblon-bound ballots

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) – In some polling precincts, the problem isn’t the PCOS machine: it’s the ballot.

Several precincts in at least two areas reported having the wrong ballots sent to them, confusing voters and leading to voting to be stopped.

Ballots meant for Compostela Valley wound up in several Baguio City precincts Monday, May 13.

Barangay Lualhati in Baguio City received ballots intended for Barangay Gabi in Compostela Valley, said Commission on Elections (Comelec) Baguio supervisor Reddy Balabar.

The affected precincts are Precincts 0379A, 0379B, 0380A, 0381B, covering 638 voters.

Voters would need to wait for a special election, Comelec said.

Six clustered precincts in Bugasong, Antique also stopped voting, after ballots meant for Odiongan, Romblon were delivered to the area.

The 6 precincts were in Lacayon Elementary School, ABS-CBN reported. The local Comelec office immediately forwarded the 819 missent ballots back to the official cargo forwarder for shipment to the intended destination.

A total of 664 voters were affected by the suspension, some of them still waiting at the polling precinct, hoping that the correct ballots will arrive soon. – Rappler.com
