MANILA, Philippines – A low pressure area (LPA) continues to enhance the southwest monsoon, which is bringing rains to Luzon and Western Visayas.
In its bulletin issued 11 am on Wednesday, August 10, state weather bureau PAGASA said the LPA is 610 kilometers east northeast of Basco, Batanes.
Though the LPA is not directly affecting the Philippines, it is enhancing the southwest monsoon.
Moderate to heavy rains are being experienced in Metro Manila and Calabarzon, as well as the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and northern Palawan.
Residents of these areas should be on alert for possible floods and landslides.
There are also light to moderate rains in Ilocos, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Western Visayas, the rest of Central Luzon, and the rest of Palawan. – Rappler.com
