MANILA, Philippines – It's a rainy end of January for at least 9 cities, the state weather bureau said Thursday, January 31, attributing this to two weather occurrences affecting the Philippines.
The following cities will experience cloudy skies with rain showers or thunderstorms, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) in its daily weather bulletin:
Tagaytay City
Legaspi City
Puerto Princesa City
Iloilo City/Bacolod City
Metro Cebu
Tacloban City
Cagayan de Oro City
Metro Davao
Zamboanga City
Other cities – like Metro Manila, Laoag City, Bagiuo City, and Olongapo/Angeles City – will experience partly cloudy skies with brief rain. Light rain or passing light rain, meanwhile, will pour in Tuguegarao City.
PAGASA attributes rain in Eastern Visayas to the tail-end of a cold front, a meeting of cold and hot air that produces clouds and rain. The northeast monsoon is affecting Luzon, the state weather bureau added.
