LPA spotted east of N. Mindanao

MANILA, Philippines – A low pressure area (LPA) was spotted east of Northern Mindanao, state weather bureau PAGASA said on Thursday, July 24. 

In its 5 pm bulletin Thursday, PAGASA said the LPA was at 600 km east of Northern Mindanao. A southwest monsoon is also affecting Luzon.

There will be monsoon rains over Ilocos region and the provinces of Zambales and Bataan. 

Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, Mimaropa, the rest of Central Luzon, and the provinces of Cavite and Batangas will have occasional rains, while the Caraga region will be cloudy with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. 

Coastal waters will be moderate to rough as moderate to strong winds blow from southwest over over the western section of Luzon.

They will be slight to moderate as light to moderate winds blow from the southwest over the rest of Luzon, and from the southwest to west over the rest of the country.
