MANILA, Philippines – The first day of September will be cloudy for most parts of the Philippines as a low pressure area hovers east of Surigao del Sur.

In its 5pm bulletin, state weather bureau PAGASA said Eastern Visayas and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers on Monday, September 1.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.

PAGASA said a low pressure area (LPA) was estimated at 830 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur as of 4pm on Sunday, August 31.
