Watch: PBA players Dillinger and Abueva get into altercation

MANILA, Philippines – Tensions rose to the boiling point during Friday evening’s game between the Meralco Bolts and the Alaska Aces. Two minutes into the fourth quarter, Meralco’s Jared Dillinger went up for a layup but was met by a hand to the face from Alaska’s Calvin Abueva. Both Dillinger and Abueva went tumbling out of bounds, with Abueva’s elbow meeting square on Dillinger’s nose.

Dillinger immediately spun around and choked Abueva, perhaps believing the blow to be intentional. Abueva’s teammate Jayvee Casio was first to respond and break up the melee, from which Dillinger emerged with a busted nose. Abueva emerged from the altercation with a smirk and a chuckle.

Both Abueva and Dillinger were hit with technical fouls and returned to the game. They exchanged high-fives later on to reconcile their differences.
