Ron Artest’s Fil-Am son Jeron has hops

MANILA, Philippines – Former NBA All-Star Ron Artest (Metta World Peace)’s son is starting to make a name for himself in California, where the 13-year-old talent performed well during a number of tournaments over the past few years.

Jeron Artest, who’s playing for Loyola High School in Los Angeles, was the MVP in the Michael Jordan Flight School camp in 2012 and was honored as the best defender as well. He also made the camp’s All-Star squad a year later and was featured in Sports Illustrated.

As seen in the highlights, Jeron Artest already has a nifty left-handed layup that he likes to use on the break. His athleticism was on full display during one of the highlights where he managed to block a three-point attempt by an opponent – something very useful for a guard.

He’s already good defensively, which was his father’s best talent. With an even better shooting stroke and with more polishing of his offense, Artest could very well become a hot commodity out of Los Angeles by the time college recruits come calling. – Rappler.com
