Dillinger suffers grade 2 MCL sprain, out for playoffs
The Meralco Bolts will have to play the rest of the Commissioner's Cup playoffs without swingman Jared Dillinger after he sustained a knee injury

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Meralco Bolts forward Jared Dillinger will miss the rest of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup playoffs after sustaining a grade 2 MCL sprain on his left knee on Friday, March 27, an MRI revealed.

According to Bolts team manager Paolo Trillo, Dillinger will be out for the rest of Meralco’s playoff run and will undergo 4-6 weeks of rehabilitation, which will likely have him miss a number of the Bolts’ games early in the Governors’ Cup.

Dillinger sustained the injury at the 3:10 mark of the first quarter in his team’s game 1 quarterfinals win against the NLEX Road Warriors on Friday when NLEX import Al Thornton drove to the rim and collided knees with the Bolts swingman.

Dillinger instantly fell to the ground and held his left knee in obvious discomfort. He was right away helped out of the playing court and missed the rest of the matchup without scoring a basket.

In the Commissioner’s Cup, Dillinger averaged 6.5 points and 3.6 rebounds a contest.
