Yokohama Philippine GT wraps up this weekend in Clark
PRESS RELEASE: The 2015 racing season ends on November 8 with the sixth and final round at Clark International Speedway

This is a press release from Philippine GT

MANILA, Philippines – The Yokohama Philippine GT Championship heads to the Clark International Speedway on November 7 and 8 for the sixth and final round of the 2015 season.

Sponsored by Yokohama Tire Sales Philippines, Inc. (YTSP), the race weekend will see all the drivers in the series’ 4 classes battle it out for their respective titles. Willie Torres in the W-Autosport Mitsubishi Evolution VIII has been unchallenged throughout the year and now holds a 170 points advantage in GT 300. Mathematically, he can now walk away with the title even if he misses the last race.

As for GT 200, only Richmon Dela Rosa and Walter Zamora have a chance at winning the class championship. The two drivers are only two points apart in the standings with Dela Rosa holding onto a slight advantage. It’s a similar story in GT 150 where Patrick Dela Rosa, NR Joaquin, and Dindo De Jesus are all locked in a 3-way battle for the class title.

However, it’s already game over for all the other drivers in GT 100 with Ivan Diaz winning every single race so far this season. This gives him a 123-point advantage and earns him the class title win 1 race to spare.

The race weekend will host practice sessions on Saturday. Qualifying, the 10-lap Spring Race, and 15-lap GT Race will then take place on Sunday. Other support races that will share the track are the Philminiracers Championship Series and Classic Aspirated Cup.

But the biggest addition to the weekend is the Sparco Bracket Racing that has now blown into a full-fledged track day event. This consists of a Bracket and Grid Race, and Track Attack Challenge.

The race weekend will see all the drivers in the series’ 4 classes battle it out for their respective titles in GT 300, GT 200, GT 150, and GT 100.

The 2015 Yokohama Philippine GT Championship is sanctioned by the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP) and sponsored by Yokohama Tires Sales Philippines, Inc., Sparco, and Aguila Auto Glass. It is also supported by Speedlab as the official pace car dyno provider.
