PH tennis patron Lhuillier backs Treat Huey’s Olympics bid
Jean Henri Lhuillier says Treat Huey has what it takes to reach Rio

MANILA, Philippines – Fresh from the successful campaign of the Cebuana Lhuillier – Philippine Davis Cup Team, Philippine tennis patron Jean Henri Lhuillier is now setting his sights on helping top Filipino netter Treat Huey in his bid to qualify for the Olympics doubles event slated this year in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Lhuillier, who has been supporting Huey’s international campaign for several years now, said he is very excited about the possibility of Huey making it to Rio with either Ruben Gonzales or Francis Casey Alcantara.

“This is a once in a lifetime chance and I’m confident Treat will give it his best shot. It’s going to be difficult but I believe that he has what it takes to make it happen. He has been playing very well this year,” said Lhuillier.

Huey made it to the semifinals of the 2016 Australian Open mixed doubles and quarterfinals of the men’s doubles. He also won the title in Acapulco and is currently number 30 in world doubles rankings.

Lhuillier, who is also President of the Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines (ASAPHIL), is also eyeing an Olympics berth for the RP Blu Girls should softball be included in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. – Rappler.com
