La Salle scores most points in a game this UAAP season against sliding NU

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – “Mayhem” was on full display when the DLSU Green Archers scored the most points in a game in UAAP Season 79 during their 113-88 win against the NU Bulldogs on Wednesday, October 19, at the San Juan Arena.

After falling behind 14-4 in the early goings of the contest, La Salle rallied to take a one-point lead, 24-23, following the first quarter and stayed in complete control the rest of the way. Still undefeated, the Green Archers improved to a league-best 10-0 while NU, now losers of 4 straight, fell to 4-6.

Ben Mbala led DLSU in scoring again with 29 points to go with 14 rebounds, while rookie Aljun Melecio scored a career-high 18 points. Jeron Teng and Thomas Torres accounted for 13 and 12 points, respectively.

A total of 14 players scored for La Salle, which shot 51% from the field and hit 7-of-17 from deep. The Green Archers also dominated the battle of the boards, 51-24, and forced 27 NU turnovers which led to 36 points.

Rev Diputado led the Bulldogs with 23 points and 5 assists, while J-Jay Alejandro pitched in 17 points. Alfred Aroga was limited to only 14.8 minutes due to foul trouble and finished with 2 points.  – Rappler.com
