MANILA, Philippines – Japanese messaging app LINE has a new standalone app out for Android devices, allowing users to take up to 30 seconds of video, then edit and share it.
The app, called SnapMovie, also lets users add filters, titles, and even some background music to accentuate that perfect shot they’ve just taken.
According to LINE’s blog post on the app, users can also use SnapMovie from the LINE chat screen once it’s installed, allowing you to share those videos with others.
The Next Web notes that LINE often releases apps or updates ahead on Android, following it up with an iOS release. While the company hasn’t given an indication as to when SnapMovie will head to iOS, with 500 million registered users worldwide, it can be expected to follow up and make the app usable for more people soon enough.
SnapMovie is compatible with Android 4.0 and above.
