Discover features curated news content from expert editorial teams, while the video series will feature 12 episodes of 100 to 200 seconds each

MANILA, Philippines – Snapchat announced two new additions to its roster of offerings on the app recently. The first is a curated news content feature called Discover, while the second is a an original video series that is being sponsored by AT&T.

The curated system allows editors and artists to pick the importance of a topic placed on Discover, with offerings on Discover not determined by clicks and shares.Discover allows users to “explore Stories from different editorial teams,” Snapchat writes in a blog post.

Discover is easily used by tapping open a curated edition from one of the editorial teams, swiping left or right through the content, then swiping upwards to learn more about the content that interests you.

According to Bloomberg, Snapchat is also getting scripted programming. The first commisioned show is called “SnapperHero,” in which Vine and YouTube celebrities play superheroes.

The series, comprised of 12 episodes lasting only 100 to 200 seconds, is produced by a collaboration between AT&T and studios Astronauts Wanted and Fullscreen Incorporated. – Rappler.com
