Rappler’s Twitter community is 1 million strong

MANILA, Philippines – Tweets are short and fleeting but they can still leave a great mark.

Topics trending on Twitter are no longer strange concepts: it’s now far easier to let one thought, one belief, get picked up by a thousand different people and then shared with ten thousand more. With this, we have learned that every person matters.

On August 5, 2015 at exactly 6:06 PM, Rappler’s Twitter community became 1 million strong.

The @rapplerdotcom Twitter account was created on July of 2011 under the username @moveph, with the goal of taking news to where people were and starting intelligent conversations on issues. The @moveph Twitter account we know now was created in September of 2011.
