PH 9th IN GLOBAL TERRORISM INDEX
A new study shows the Philippines was 9th in terrorist activity worldwide in 2013.
Most of the terrorist activities were blamed on the communist New People’s Army, Muslim rebels, and the Abu Sayyaf Group.
Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan are listed as the top three countries under threats of terrorism.

SENATE RECOMMENDS P3B FOR PUBLIC WIFI
The Senate recommends an increase in the public wi-fi budget.
Senator Ralph Recto says the department of Science and Technology’s budget on wi-fi should be increased from P338 million or $7.5 million to  P3 billion or $66.6 million.
Increased connectivity in the country will pave the way for more efficient data use and exchange.
Recto adds, free wifi would be a convenience for the millions of tourists expected to visit the Philippines.

MAGUINDANAO MASSACRE: 5 YEARS AFTER
It’s been five years since the gruesome murder of 58 journalists in the province of Maguindanao.
But what’s the status of the case?

ANGELA CASAUAY, REPORTING: Fifty-eight dead. Five years. Still, justice remains elusive. How much longer do the families of the victims have to wait to bring closure to this dark page in our history?

MIKKO RAZON, SON OF AMPATUAN MASSACRE VICTIM, FERNANDO RAZON: Five years na wala pa rin e. Ewan ko kung may pag-asa ba o wala ba. Hindi namin alam. Umabot na lang sa pork barrel, Yolanda, ‘yung sa amin wala pa rin. Parang lumala talaga ang sitwasyon. Bigyan niyo lang kami ng hustisya para matahimik na kami kumbaga para magbalik na sa normal.

(It’s been 5 years yet there is nothing. I’m not sure if there is still hope or not. We don’t know. Pork barrel, Yolanda happened yet our case has not been resolved. It seems the situation has worsened. Just give us justice so we can be at peace, so things can go back to normal.)

POPE TELLS PH: DON’T SPEND TOO MUCH ON MY VISIT
Pope Francis, known for his simple lifestyle, tells Church and government officials to keep down the cost of his visit. Papal visit committee member Fr. Anton Pascual says the Pope wants the money to be funnelled to calamity victims especially with the ongoing rehabilitation for Super Typhoon Haiyan or Yolanda victims and survivors of the earthquake in Bohol.
