6.9 quake hits off Japan's Hokkaido - USGS

TOKYO, Japan - A 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck off Japan's Hokkaido island late on Saturday, February 2, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported.

The quake hit at a depth of 103 kilometers (64 miles) at 23:17 pm (1417 GMT), about 109 kilometers west of Kushiro, Hokkaido, the USGS said. - Rappler.com
