WATCH: Rousey fires more rounds at Mayweather on Fallon

MANILA, Philippines – UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey continues to throw verbal jabs at retired American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.

In an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Rousey looked to win another round against Mayweather in their war of words.

 “I said something to the fact that now he knows how it feels to have a woman beat him for once,” she stated during late-night talk program.

When a reporter asked Mayweather about Rousey during one of his media sessions, he responded, “I don’t even know who she is.”

Rousey says that if ever she gets the opportunity to cross paths with Mayweather, she will introduce herself to the 38-year-old boxer, who recently retired from boxing after scoring a lopsided decision win over Andre Berto in September.

“If I ever run into him, every time that I run into him I’m going to reintroduce myself,” Ronda stressed. “Maybe one day he’ll actually remember me.”

When Rousey received the ESPY “Fighter of the Year” and “Best Female Athlete” trophies this past July, Rousey took a swipe at Mayweather, who was also nominated for the “Fighter of the Year” award along with other world-class pugilists such as Terence Crawford and Gennady Golovkin.

“I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once,” she said, alluding to Mayweather’s convictions for domestic violence. “I’d like to see you pretend to not know who I am now.”

In June 2012, Mayweather spent two months at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada for a physical altercation involving Josie Harris, mother to three of his four children.

Meanwhile, his ex-fiancée Shantel Jackson filed a lawsuit against Mayweather in September 2014, seeking damages and alleging invasion of privacy, assault, battery and defamation.

In addition, Mayweather was denied a visa going to Australia last February on the basis of his criminal record relating to his past problems with domestic violence and his consequent 2012 jail term.

Rousey is booked to face former boxer Holly Holm in the main event of UFC 193 on November 15 at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. – Rappler.com
