Marck Espejo and FC Tokyo tasted sweet revenge over the JT Thunders Hiroshima with a payback victory in the Japan V. League at the Sumida Ward General Gymnasium on Saturday, November 13.

Toppled by Hiroshima in the first of their back-to-back slate on Friday, Tokyo returned the favor following a 25-21, 25-18, 24-26, 25-17 verdict for its third triumph of the season.

Espejo finished with a team-high-tying 16 points off 11 attacks, 3 blocks, and 2 aces as Tokyo neutralized Thunders import Thomas Edgar, who sizzled for 31 points in their Friday win.

The Australian reinforcement Edgar still produced a game-high 25 points for Hiroshima but lacked sufficient offensive help from his teammates.

Norwegian import Jonas Kvalen also churned out 16 points spiked by 13 attacks and 2 aces for Tokyo, which climbed to seventh with a 3-7 record.

Yanagimachi Hayata added 15 points in the win – all coming from attacks.

Despite toting the same record as Tokyo, Hiroshima slid to eighth place by virtue of having less points.

Tokyo will go on a two-week break before it returns to action against the Toray Arrows on November 27.

Meanwhile, Bryan Bagunas and the Oita Miyoshi aim to arrest their seven-game skid against the JTEKT Stings on November 20.
