Here’s what Jimmy Fallon has to say about that Trump interview

Jimmy, who playfully messed up Trump’s famous hair on his late night talk show, received flak for his line of questioning for Trump, a presidential candidate enjoying significant support despite various controversies and objectionable comments insulting various minority groups, media groups, Gold Star families, and his opponent, Hillary Clinton, among others. 

In a video on TMZ, reporters asked Jimmy after the Emmys on Sunday night what he thought of people saying he was “too soft” on Trump.

Jimmy responded, “Have you seen my show? I’m never too hard on anyone.”

He also said that Trump was a “good sport” about it, as they only asked for his permission to do it when Trump got in for the show.

Prior to his response, Jimmy also told reporters about touching Trump’s hair, describing its texture and joking, “I might have superpowers but I don’t want to get into that right now. I’m currently talking to the Avengers and the X-Men.”

In one of the articles that called Jimmy out, Frank Scheck said in The Hollywood Reporter, “[Fallon’s] softball interviewing style makes you nostalgic for the steely edginess of [former late night host] Jay Leno.”

“It humanized him [Trump],” wrote The Guardian Writer-at-Large Steven Thrasher, while actress Suzanne Cryer said, “I think it’s unacceptable to validate someone who’s full of hatred.”

“We have Hillary tomorrow so we’ll see, we’ll do something fun with her too,” Jimmy said to reporters in the TMZ video, referring to Trump’s opponent, Hillary Clinton, guesting on his show. Hillary’s interview is set to air on September 19 in the US. – Rappler.com
