MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – All public storm warning signals are lifted as tropical storm Gorio (international codename Rumbia) now hovers over the West Philippine Sea.
Gorio was 340 kilometers west of Dagupan City, Pangasinan (16.8°N, 116.8°E) as of 10 pm, carrying maximum winds of 75 km/h near the center and gusts of up to 90 km/h.
It is currently moving northwest at a speed of 26 km/h, and is expected to be out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Monday morning, state weather bureau PAGASA said in its 11 pm weather bulletin.
All public storm warning signals have been lifted already.
Fishermen, specially those using small seacrafts, are advised not to venture out into the western seaboards of Luzon due to big waves generated by the tropical storm.
The storm is estimated to have moderate to heavy rainfall within its 400 km diameter.
Gorio is forecast to move across the South China Sea towards southern China by Tuesday. – Rappler.com
