MANILA, Philippines – Mindanao and parts of extreme northern Luzon will be cloudy Friday, August 30, while a low pressure area continues to hover east.

The new weather disturbance has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), and was located 1,140 km east of extreme north Luzon (19.4ºN, 134.5ºE) as of 4 pm Thursday, August 29.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon will be felt in the extreme north Luzon area, bringing cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms to Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Abra, Apayao, and Cagayan.

Mindanao is also forecast to have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms, the state weather bureau PAGASA said in its 24-hour forecast.

The rest of the archipelago, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies accompanied by isolated rain or thunderstorms.
