About Jon Dayao
Jon Dayao is CTO of Rappler. He has more than 30 years of experience building and operating IT systems and teams. He began as a teacher in 1987 and became Dean at the College of Computer Studies at DLSU Manila in 1997. He left the academe around 2000 to work for IT outsourcing firms, working for groups like SVI, RCGIT, Telus, and Macquarie, which is one of the top 5 banks in Australia. He returned to the academe in 2018 to build and operate educational systems. His experience in applications development and IT operations management is backed by industry frameworks like CMMI and ISO20000. Jon has a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Brighton in the UK.
