About Timothy Gabrielli

Tim Gabrielli serves as Gudorf Chair in Catholic Intellectual Traditions and Associate Professor in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of Dayton in Ohio, an appointment he's held since 2019. For the six previous years he worked as assistant and then associate professor of theology at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. He holds a B.A. in Theology and English Literature from the University of Scranton and two graduate degrees in theological studies from the University of Dayton. Gabrielli is the author of two books, Confirmation: How a Sacrament of God's Grace Became All about Us (2013) and One in Christ: Virgil Michel, Louis-Marie Chauvet and Mystical Body Theology (2017) and co-editor of Weaving the American Catholic Tapestry (2017).

At Dayton, Gabrielli works with faculty and students to cultivate conversations around Catholic Intellectual Traditions through a variety of campus programs, he oversees the Religious Studies Department's pedagogy training program for doctoral students in theology, supports undergraduate programs, and teaches courses in Catholic theology and history.
