Several connotations surround the next set of leaders, but what separates the generations from one another?

The older between the two, the Millennials, are known to be independent workplace specialists who are very committed to succeeding in their career. Gen Z, on the other hand, are natural entrepreneurs because of their access to vast amounts of data and their people management skills. But is there more to these stereotypes?

Professionals from different fields and generations took it upon themselves to study these two specific generations and will be presenting their insights at the 2nd Emerging Leadership Summit happening on September 26, 2018.

Global marketing services company McCann Worldgroup conducted a global research on the up and coming generations – the millennials and Generation Z. Naming the study “Truth About Youth,” they sought to shed light on some misconceptions while separating the noise surrounding the two generations. Gino Borromeo, vice president of McCann Worldgroup Philippines, will be sharing his insights about the study at the ELS through his talk, “The Truth About Leading Young Talent” where he will shed enlightening truths on what it takes to bring out the best in young talent in the workplace.

On the local front, Pauline Fermin and her team at Acumen Brand Strategy Consultants launched the first Filipino-focused study about Gen Z – the generation who will be working closely with millennials in the very near future. Born between 1997 to 2014, its oldest members have already graduated college and have started on their career. This generation of “digital mavens”, as Pauline calls it, was born after the rise of digital technologies. They are more entrepreneurial due to the amount of opportunities and data available to them. The rise of both generations taking on bigger roles in various industries begs the question, “How do we bring out their true potential?”

In his talk, “Managing Multi-Generations at Work,” Boris Joaquin, one of the country’s top leadership trainers and consultants, acknowledges that building strong leaders with the right leadership competencies has ever been more essential, given the changing characteristics of today’s workforce.

Catch Boris, together with Gino and Pauline as they tackle the challenge of unlocking the potential of both generations at the 2nd Emerging Leadership Summit with the theme Grown Up Digital: Leadership for the Net Generation, happening on September 26, 2018. Rounding out this exciting team of discussants are Kick Fire Kitchen co-founder Niña Terol, White and Case LLP Manila Global Operations head Carlo Mata, and training and management consultant Mondo Castro.
