#ClimateActionPH Conversation: How can we cut carbon emissions from transport?

The transportation sector is one of the largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions in the Philippines. Cars, buses, and trains all produce the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide, which causes global warming, as well as gases directly dangerous to your health such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen and sulfur oxides, and other particulates. Clean Air Asia estimates that by 2030, the country will generate 81.77 million tons of carbon dioxide from road activities. 

By that same year, however, the country is supposed to cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 70% as part of its commitment to the Paris Agreement on climate change. A chunk of the reduction is supposed to come from the transport sector. What steps should the government take to make this happen? How can you help as a citizen?
