Peace one day: Celebrating cooperation and unity through football
The Peace One Day football cup will be held on September 26 at the Bonifacio Naval Station football grounds
This is a press release from Philippine Marine Corps

MANILA, Philippines – The international celebration of Peace One Day will be held on 21 September 2015.  It aims to harness the power of “the beautiful game” to foster the spirit of Peace Day through football matches all over the world to commemorate the event.  Each “One Day-One Goal” match celebrates cooperation, unity and the power of football to bring people together.

Thousands of matches have taken place across every United Nations member state since 2008.

Peace One Day 2015 theme asks individuals to work together and make peace with each other to improve the quality of everyone’s lives.

This could include bringing people or groups together that may have existing rivalries that make it hard for members to bridge their differences and make peace in their community.

Many supporters try to bring these groups together for One Day One Goal matches on Peace Day, to use football to rise above their differences and to resolve conflict or strengthen a fragile peace.

In view hereof, the Philippine Marine Corps will conduct the Peace One Day Football Cup in the Philippines. It will be held in Bonifacio Naval Station Football grounds, Taguig City on September 26, 2015 (Saturday).

Teams within National Capital Region (NCR) and nearby provinces will be invited to participate in the event.  It is a one (1) day tournament and a part of the Football for Peace Program.  Following are the six (6) category level to be played:
