CSC to release results of civil service exam in Hong Kong
The list of passers will be posted on the CSC website at www.csc.gov.ph.

The following is a press release from the Civil Service Commission.

Overseas Filipinos who took the Career Service Examination (CSE) administered by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) in Hong Kong can view the result of the exam starting January 7, 2017.

The list of passers will be posted on the CSC website at www.csc.gov.ph. The CSC said that passers should personally claim their Certification of Eligibility upon their return to the Philippines at the CSC office they indicated on the online registration for the examination. Representatives are not allowed to claim the Certification on their behalf.

The CSC administered the examination to a total of 953 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) at Delia Memorial School in Kwun Tong, Hong Kong last November 27, with 676 examinees taking the Professional level of the examination and 277, the Subprofessional level. The figures included OFWs based in Macau.

The CSC said that the conduct of the CSE is in support of the Department of Labor and Employment’s reintegration campaign which, the latter says, aims to “encourage the vulnerable OFWs to return to the country and be with their families again.”

It is the first time after nearly two decades for the CSC to hold the exam for Filipinos abroad.

The Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Hong Kong, headed by Labor Attache Jalilo Dela Torre, enabled a sign-up campaign among OFWs in Hong Kong and the acceptance of exam applications.

Passing the Professional level would earn examinees a Career Service Professional Eligibility appropriate for both first level (clerical) and second level (technical up to division chief) positions in the government that do not involve practice of profession and are not covered by special or other laws. On the other hand, passing the Subprofessional test yields to Subprofessional Eligibility appropriate only for first level (clerical) positions.

The CSC clarified that a Professional or Subprofessional eligibility is just one of the requirements to join the government. Education, experience, and training requirements must also be met for permanent appointment to a government career service position. – Rappler.com/Press Release
