Ateneo de Manila University hosts ‘The 4th Malaga Conference’ June 5-7

The Ateneo de Manila University School of Law is hosting the 4th Malaga Conference, entitled: “The 4th International Scientific Congress on Private Law of the Philippines and Spain: An Interdisciplinary Perspective on Emerging Issues,” from June 5 to 7, 2018, at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law, No. 20 Rockwell Drive, Rockwell Center, Makati City, Philippines.
The event is a follow-through of a similar conference held at the Malaga University, Spain, in April 2015, which was participated in by Philippine law school deans and professors.
In 2016, the Ateneo also successfully organized and hosted the 2nd Malaga Conference. For the second time, the conference is being organized by the Ateneo with the Universidad de Malaga Facultad de Derecho, Universidad de Deusto, and the Philippine Association of Law Schools, in cooperation with the Embassy of Spain and the Legal Education Board.
This year’s chairperson is the Ateneo School of Law Dean Sedfrey M. Candelaria.
Foreign and Philippine delegations, consisting mainly of scholars, faculty members and deans from various disciplines, among others, will take part in the conference. A rich scholarly discourse is expected on diverse topics intersecting with emerging issues on private law of the Philippines and Spain. Experts will present their papers on the following themes: Law and Diversity; Law and Governance; Law and Medicine; Law and Science; and Transformative Education and Capacitating the Courts.
