MANILA, Philippines – Local government units (LGUs) and school administrators have already started suspending classes for Thursday, Novemeber 7, in anticipation of typhoon Haiyan.

The typhoon, which will be given the PAGASA codename Yolanda as it enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), is expected to move towards the geneal area of Visayas early Thursday. 

It has also been designated a super typhoon status by the US Navy’s Joint Typhoon Warning Center.

Here is a list of schools and areas where classes have been suspended for Thursday as compiled by Rappler.

Provinces

• Agusan del Sur – classes in all levels
• Albay – classes in all levels; work in government offices except those directly involved in disaster response
• Biliran – until further notice according to Office of Civil Defense-Region VIII
• Camarines Sur – classes in all levels until November 8
• Capiz – classes in all levels
• Catanduanes
• Compostela Valley – classes in all levels until November 8
• Davao del Norte – classes in all levels
• Eastern Samar – until further notice according to Office of Civil Defense-Region VIII
• Leyte – classes in all levels 
• Province of Bohol – classes in all levels until November 8
• Province of Cebu – classes in all levels until November 8; afternoon work in both public and private offices until November 8
• Marinduque – classes in all levels
• Misamis Oriental – classes in all levels
• Negros Oriental – classes in all levels until November 8
• Negros Occidental – classes in all levels according to Gov. Alfredo Maranon Jr
• Northern Samar – classes in all levels
• Romblon – afternoon classes in all levels until November 8; afternoon work in government offices until November 8 except those directly involved in disaster response
• Southern Leyte – until further notice according to Office of Civil Defense-Region VIII
• Surigao del Norte – classes in all levels and office work until November 8
