Dr Herminia Manimtim new PUP VP for Student Services

PUP President Dr. Emanuel C. De Guzman has designated Dr. Herminia E. Manimtim as the new Vice President for Student Services (VPSS) following the retirement from government service of Dr. Juan C. Birion who held the post since 2007. 

Dr. Manimtim was President De Guzman’s associate dean at the PUP Graduate School (PUP GS) prior to her designation as the new VPSS. She holds the rank of a special lecturer at PUP GS, course specialist at PUP Open University (PUPOU) and faculty member at the College of Social Sciences and Development. She also served as dean of the former College of Cooperatives and Social Development. 

An alumna of the country’s first polytechnic and largest state university, Dr. Manimtim has a doctorate in Educational Management, master’s degree in Business Administration, and baccalaureate degree in Sociology which she obtained through the Non-Traditional Study Program of the University.

The new VPSS was a student artist during her college years. She belonged to the creative team of Kamanyang, a Philippine College of Commerce cultural collective which popularized street theater and mounted performances on social issues in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
