This is a press release from the Philippine Postal Corporation.
MANILA, Philippines – It is PHLPost’s turn to say “Salamat Po” to the 350,000 students from all over the country who wrote and mailed personal “Thank you” letters in line with the corporation’s “Salamat Po” letterwriting caravan last year.
As part of its appreciation, the corporation has drawn six winning entries in a raffle draw held recently. The lucky winners include Ethan Cole Geyrozaga from Davao, Jamila Marie Reyes from Nueva Ecija, Charmy Jorgianne Deliva from Naga City, Ronalie Arabe from Bacolod City, Raymond Cafino from Cavite, and Mechaell Belango from Visayas.
The winning entries entail a double celebration as the six students, together with their teachers (as indentified in the coupon) will receive a cash prize of P30,000 each, says Postmaster General Josie Dela Cruz.
Postmaster Dela Cruz congratulated the winners and urged students and schools to continue participating in this project, as this will not only please the recipient of the letter, but will also provide an opportunity to win in the grand draw.
Last year, PHLPost signed a memorandum of agreement with the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino (KWF) to institutionalize letter writing as a tool to develop the writing skills of students in elementary and secondary schools nationwide. This is also in support to the postal firm’s Sulat Mulat Postal Awareness Caravan that seeks to revive the art of letterwriting among the youth.
The MOA was signed by Postmaster General Josie Dela Cruz, DepEd Sec. Br. Armin Luistro, and KWF Commissioner Virgilio S. Almario. – Rappler.com
