MANILA, Philippines – FDC Hotels Corp., a Filinvest Development Corp. (FDC) subsidiary, will spend P2 billion to build a 5-star resort hotel in world-famous Boracay.

In a statement, the Board of Investments (BOI) said it has approved FDC Hotels’ plan to build the resort hotel, Boracay Seascapes.

Boracay Seascapes will have almost 200 guest rooms. The hotel will also feature banquet facilities, food and beverage outlets, a swimming pool, a game room, water sports facilities, a gym, a spa and a salon.

The project will be linked to another FDC development, Crimson Resort and Spa Boracay, which is scheduled for completion in 2015.

Boracay Seascapes will rise on a 2.9-hectare property in Barangay Yapak. FDC Hotels is scheduled to break ground for the project during the first quarter of 2013. The company is looking to commence commercial operations by December 2017.

FDC Hotels owns and manages 3 other hotel developments: Crimson Resort and Spa in Mactan, Cebu; Crimson Hotel Filinvest City in Manila; and Quest Hotel and Conference Center, also in Cebu.

BOI also approved Infinity Paradise Resort’s plans for a triple A class hotel in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro.
