MANILA, Philippines – Water concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) is set to invest P166.5 million for the construction of a pump station in Cavite.

The company, which is the water and wastewater service provider for the 17 cities and municipalities in the west zone of Metro Manila, is looking to boost water supply in the province. The facility will be located in Molino Boulevard in Bacoor City.

Maynilad’s new pumping station is expected to increase water pressure to 6,990 homes in Bacoor. The facility will also provide water to 13,159 more households.

“Through this infrastructure investment, we hope to enrich the lives of our current and future customers in the South,” said Ricky P. Vargas, the company’s president and CEO.

The structure will have a capacity of 10 million liters of water a day. It will also have Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) and high- efficiency electric motors. The equipment will enable the facility to adjust operation speed based on customer consumption.

The company plans to invest P7.63 billion in 2013. The money will be directed towards the improve of its services in Muntinlupa, Las Piñas, Parañaque and Cavite.
