Jericho Rosales to play a chef in new Malaysian TV romance
MANILA, Philippines - Local actor Jericho Rosales is set to star in a Malaysian television show this 2014, reported ABS-CBN.
In a press conference for another project, the film adaptation of Bob Ong's ABNKKBSNPLAko?! held January 21, Rosales revealed that the TV project, a love story, in which he will be playing a chef, will be shot on location in Kuala Lumpur, in Manila, and somewhere in Australia.
"My role is a chef. It's about a chef. Love story siya set in Australia, Manila, Kuala Lumpur," he told ABS-CBN.
"I'm going back in Kuala Lumpur for another 10 days, and then I will go to Australia, and then the entire team will come here to shoot," he said.
Around two weeks ago, the actor posted a graphic showing a cartoon chef on Instagram with the caption "Kuala Lumpur bound for a new Malaysian TV series!" Comments on the post showed excitement both from Filipino and Malaysian Fans.
This will not be Rosales' first time to appear in Malaysian television. In 2008, he starred alongside Malaysian actress Carmen Soo in soap opera Kahit Isang Saglit, which, according to Pep.ph, aired in the Philippines and also in Malaysia and Singapore.
According to ABS-CBN, Pangako Sa 'Yo, Rosales' soap opera co-starring Kristine Hermosa in the early 2000s, also earned a following in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, and Africa.
While Philippine television has embraced shows from other countries, particularly South Korea, Taiwan, and Latin America, other Asian countries have also taken a liking to Pinoy dramas.
According to the report, ABS-CBN shows that have been aired in other countries include Tayong Dalawa, Sana Maulit Muli, Lobo, and Maging Sino Ka Man, among others.
