Jennifer Hudson takes the stage at Pinoy Relief concert in NYC
MANILA, Philippines – In a show of support for victims of typhoon Yolanda, Jennifer Hudson entertained the audience with her signature show-stopping vocals at the Pinoy Relief concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City on March 11 (March 12 in Manila).
On the lineup? Hits by Whitney Houston, as well as the iconic "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going," which Jennifer sang in her Oscar-winning turn in the movie Dreamgirls.

Artists like Pentatonix, Plain White T’s, A Great Big World, DJ Poet Name Life, Reo Brothers, as well as Dr. Oz and Dante Basco, are also involved with the concert.
According to its website, Pinoy Relief aims “to provide relief to victims of natural disasters in the Philippines – with the current focus being victims of Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda).” Proceeds will go to typhoon victims and the ongoing efforts to rebuild lives from the typhoon-hit areas.
Jennifer Hudson was a contestant on the 3rd season of American Idol, where she made it as a finalist. She gained acclaim in the film world when she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in Dreamgirls. She released her self-titled debut album in 2008 and received a Grammy for her work as well. She received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2013. – Rappler.com
