Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves tie the knot
WASHINGTON, United States of America - Three months after she said in an interview with Extra that marriage is nowhere near their horizon, Brazilian model Camila Alves finally became Mrs. Matthew McConaughey last Saturday, June 9.
It was a 3-day wedding fest at McConaughey and Alves' home in Texas. Their two kids, 3-year-old Levi and two-year-old Vida, did not miss the celebration.
Celebrity guests include Reese Witherspoon (who co-stars with McConaughey in the movie "Mud," a take on the Mark Twain classic, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn), Woody Harrelson, Jim Toth and Meg Ryan. Singer John Mellencamp serenaded the newlyweds.
In true outdoorsy-McConaughey style, the couple skipped on traditions such as a wedding cake and dance. Instead, they and their guests ate rotisserie-style Brazilian meats. Tents were set up for their guests to stay in over the weekend, and games such as beanbag and ring toss were played.
Instead of sharing their wedding vows with their guests, McConaughey and Alves chose to whisper their promises to each other.
McConaughey wore a 3-piece Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo while Alves opted for a creation from her favorite Brazilian designer.
