MANILA, Philippines – Ruby Ibarra and the Balikbayans have come home – and are bringing their music to Rappler HQ.
Led by spitfire rapper Ruby Ibarra, the US-based band is made up of Filipino-American musicians who came together in July 2018 to perform Ruby’s debut album Circa91 with live music.
Since then, they’ve performed in various venues in California, finally coming home to the motherland for the first time as a band when they performed at the 9th Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival in Puerto Galera on March 1 and 2.
The band saved their last performance in the Philippines (for now) for Rappler.
