Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown dead

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of the late Whitney Houston, has died Sunday, July 26 (Monday, July 27 in Manila), US news groups report. She was 22.

On Monday, July 27 (Tuesday, July 28 in Manila), her father, singer Bobby Brown released a statement to People through his lawyer. “Krissy was and is an angel. I am completely numb at this time. My family must find a way to live with her in spirit and honor her memory. Our loss is unimaginable. We thank everyone for the prayers for Krissy and our family as we mourn my baby girl.”

“Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July 26, 2015, surrounded by her family,” a statement, released by a representative of the Houston family, read, PEOPLE magazine reported.

“She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months,” the statement added, according to NBC News.

Her death comes nearly 6 months after she was found unconscious and nearly drowning in a bathtub, which led to her hospitalization and being kept on life support.

Brown was found face down and unresponsive in her bathtub in her Atlanta, Georgia home on January 31.

She was revived by emergency crews but lost significant brain function. She died at a hospice in Duluth, Georgia.

Brown’s accident – which a source told ET was linked to an apparent drug overdose – drew eerie parallels with the death of her mother, who was found face down in a bathtub in a Los Angeles hotel on February 11, 2012, on the eve of the Grammy Awards.

A final coroner’s report said Houston may have overdosed on drugs and alcohol before drowning, and that drug-related heart damage played a part in her death. – With reports from Agence France-Presse / Rappler.com
