Arnell Ignacio and Ken Psalmer break engagement

MANILA, Philippines – Comedian and TV host Arnell Ignacio and singer Ken Psalmer confirmed that they are no longer engaged on August 1 in an episode of GMA’s Startalk. 

The couple got engaged last June. Ken, 34, returned the engagement ring to Arnell, 51. 

Arnell said during the Startalk episode that Ken cheated on him. “Napuno na ako nung ikaw, mahuhuli ko na nga kita na manlalalaki ka, uulitin mo pa. Ano ito, lolokohin mo lang ako nang lolokohin? Ikaw pa magagalit? Eh sa mga huli kong nalalaman, di ko na kaya, di ko na kayang dagdagan pa yung pasensiya,” he said. The comedian also said that he was ready for a long-term relationship, but Ken was not.

Amid rumors of Ken only using Arnell to further his singing career, Arnell said he was really willing to help Ken. “In all honesty, sinabi ko, gamitin mo ‘ko. At least, para yung career mo, may makilala ka. Kasi nga, mahal mo yung tao, and I was really willing to help,” said Arnell.

(In all honesty, I told him to use me. At least, for his career, he could meet people. [I did it] because I loved him, and I was really willing to help.)

Startalk spoke to Ken and he denied that he cheated on Arnell, saying, “Siguro nasabi na lang niya yun kasi sama ng loob? Nag-usap na kami eh, sinabi ko naman sa kanya that time lahat ng nalaman niya tungkol sa buhay ko nangyari yun bago ko siya nakilala, lahat ng nabalitaan niya nangyari yun bago naging kami.”
