Shaina Magdayao on John Lloyd Cruz: ‘Wala kaming problema sa isa’t isa’

MANILA, Philippines – Actress Shaina Magdayao said there is no issue between her and former boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz when John Lloyd appeared as a guest in the show Nathaniel, where she is a regular cast member. 

In an interview on Aquino and Abunda Tonight Tuesday, August 4, Shaina said she believed that the audience was just surprised about them working together. (READ: John Lloyd Cruz: No issues between me and Shaina Magdayao)

“Matagal na and okay naman kasi talaga kami. Wala kaming problema sa isa’t isa,”Shaina said. 

(It was a long time ago and we’re okay. We don’t have any problem with one another.)

“But, I think, kasi bago lang sa mata ng tao na nakikita kami onscreen. (But I think for the audience, it’s very new for them to see us onscreen.)

“Maski naman ako, parang hindi ko nakita ‘yon, e, na mangyayari na magkakatrabaho kami,” she added.

(Even me, I didn’t see that coming, that we’d be working together again.) 

When asked how they were during the taping of the show, Shaina said: “It was okay…Dun lang ako sa fact na, ‘Ay, nagtatrabaho kami together.’ (But it was just the fact, ‘Ay, we’re working together’)

“But other than that, we’re okay because we see each other naman around. We have common friends.”

Shaina also clarified that this was not the first time she and John Lloyd have seen each other. 

“Pero siguro yung on the set sa trabaho, yun lang siguro ang bago, but other than that, wala naman.

(But I guess on the set, that’s what’s new, but other than that, nothing else.)

“I mean, ilang taon na ang nakalipas, ilang Star Magic Ball na ang nakalipas, and marami na kaming parties [na nagkita kami].”  

(I mean how many years has it been, how many Star Magic Balls went by and there have been may parties where we’ve seen each other.)

In an interview last week, John Lloyd said that there was no issue between him and Shaina. He also said that he did not even consider that fact she was part of the show when he accepted the guest role on Nathaniel.

John Lloyd and Shaina became a couple sometime in 2010 and parted ways in 2012. John Lloyd is currently in a relationship with actress Angelica Panganiban. – Rappler.com
