Jane Oineza confirms she and Jeron Teng no longer dating, remain friends

MANILA, Philippines – Young actress Jane Oineza confirmed that she and La Salle basketball star Jeron Teng broke up, despite previously being reserved when speaking about the status of their relationship.

In an interview on Kris TV Thursday, March 3, Kris Aquino asked if it was Jane who initiated the breakup. Jane said it was Jeron who ended things. 

“Ito ‘yung classic example na natapos na lang pero never umamin,” said Kris. (This is one of those examples where things just ended but nothing was ever confirmed.) 

“May mga bagay lang na hindi mo expect na mawawala pero nawawala, (There are things that you don’t expect will disappear, but will disappear),” Jane said. “Pero okay lang (But it’s okay).“

Kris and Darla Sauler meanwhile said that Jeron felt that he was being a hindrance to the career of Jane. Jane answered that she would rather be respectful of what they had, and that she has learned much from their time together. 

“Kasi kapag ganoon mas nagma-mature ka at ready ka sa mga bagay na darating,” Jane said.  

(I guess when that kind of situation happens, you become more mature, and you’re ready for what’s to come.) 

Jane added: “If it ‘s not meant to be, hindi talaga siya mangyayari and siguro, may mga bagay na mas deserving mo or mas deserving ng tao.”

(If it’s not meant to be, it won’t happen and I guess there are things that you deserve or other people deserve more.)

She however stressed that she and Jeron are good friends, though they aren’t dating anymore. 

When Darla mentioned a quote Jane said about finding yourself, Jane said: “Totoo naman. Kasi minsan kailangan mo maging okay sa sarili mo. Kailangan mo muna maging buo bago ma-shashare sa sarili mo sa iba. Kasi kapag kulang ka naman, eh di sayang lang,” she said. 

(It’s true. Because there are times you have to be okay with yourself. You have to be whole before you share yourself with others. because if you feel incomplete, then it’s just a waste.) 

Jane also mentioned that because of the breakup, she was able to write lyrics to a song, and admitted there were new guys courting her. 

In a blog entry last February, Darla wrote that Jeron confirmed he and Jane have stopped seeing each other since last year. Darla said that Jeron mentioned it was a “good breakup.”

Jane and Jeron’s relationship has been the subject of many fans’ speculation since Jane’s participation in Pinoy Big Brother in 2014. During her debut, Jeron was her escort. (READ: Jeron Teng on friendship with Jane Oineza)
