Sunshine Dizon’s birthday wish: To get the justice that we all deserve

MANILA, Philippines – Following the news of her separation from husband Timothy Tan, Sunshine Dizon celebrated her birthday (July 3) with family, friends and fans.

In an interview with GMA News, Sunshine said that she was touched that her family and fans threw her a surprise party at her home.

“I’m so happy to see familiar faces. Everybody is here. It’s so nice, nakakataba po ng puso (it’s heartwarming),” she said.

The actress did not hide the painful experience that she had been through after separating from Timothy, but she also said that she’s getting a lot of support and prayers from her family, friends, and women who have been through a similar experience as hers.

“Basically I’m okay, but it really breaks my heart every time I read their stories,” she said.

Sunshine said that she will fight for what she believes in and that she will also do it for those who do not have the voice to do so.

She said, “Not only for myself but for all those women out there who is going through the same thing, lalaban tayo (we will fight).”

“Sabi nga nila baka ito yung binibigay sa’yo ng Diyos na maging boses ka ng mas nakakarami – mas maging mukha ka ng mas nakakarami,” she later added.

(They say maybe God wants me to be the voice of many women – to be the face of others.)

Aside from good health, Sunshine also shared another wish.

“I just pray and wish na makuha namin yung (that we get the) justice na (that) we all deserve,” she said.

Last June, Timothy confirmed that he and Sunshine have separated, saying that they were already having marital problems. The two married in 2010 and have two children.

Sunshine, on the other hand, said that she will pursue legal action against Timothy. – Rappler.com
