Robert Downey Jr. tops Forbes’ list of highest-paid actors

MANILA, Philippines – For the second straight year, Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr is the highest-paid actor in Hollywood, according to Forbes.com

According to the report, Downey Jr earned around $75 million from June 2013 and June 2014, with much of the earnings coming from the third Iron Man movie released in 2013. The movie made $1.2 billion at the box office.

The Avengers star was recently seen in the movie Chef, starring his friend Jon Favreau, which earned $25 million in the global box office.

Former wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson lands in second place, with an estimated $52 million in the website’s list. Having appeared in movies such as G.I. Joe and the Fast and Furious franchise, Johnson will next been seen in Hercules.

The Hangover and Guardians of the Galaxy star Bradley Cooper is in third place with an estimated earning of $46 million, followed by Leonardo DiCaprio in fourth with an estimated $39 million, and Thor star Chris Hemsworth rounding out the top 5 with $37 million. 

Other stars on the list include Liam Neeson, Ben Affleck, Christian Bale, Will Smith, and  Mark Wahlberg.

This year’s earnings, according to the website, were compiled by talking to agents, producers, and industry people familiar with the actors’ films, covering the period between June 2013 and June 2014. – Rappler.com
