WATCH: Behind the scenes of ‘Exodus: Gods and Kings’

MANILA, Philippines – There are a lot of big set pieces in the upcoming Christian Bale starrer, Exodus: Gods and Kings. 

Following the story of Moses, the biblical figure who leads thousands of slaves to freedom from the power of the Egyptians, the movie takes a larger-than-life approach to the visuals.

In this short feature, production designer Arthur Max and director Ridley Scott talk about finding the best locations to recreate the grandeur and scale of the original story, which includes iconic scenes such as the parting of the Red Sea, and the battle moving into the great escape.  

Take a look at the sets in Pinewood Studios in London, to the vast expanse of Almeria, Spain, plus the beauty of the Sierra Alhamilla mountains in the background.

With Christian Bale as Moses and Joel Edgerton as Ramses, the star-studded cast will also feature Hollywood veterans Sigourney Weaver (Alien, also directed by Ridley Scott), Ben Kingsley (Iron Man 3), and John Turturro (Transformers series). Weaver will play Ramses’ mother, Queen Tuya, Kingsley as the scholar, Nun, and Turturro as Ramses’ father, Seti. (WATCH: Christian Bale as Moses in first ‘Exodus’ trailer)
